The National Task Force, which was instituted by the National Insurance Commission (NIC) is to ensure that owner(s)/occupier (s) of Private Commercial Buildings, both completed and under construction, have complied with Sections 183 (1) and 184 (1) of the Insurance Act.
The National Task Force which comprise of personnel from the National Insurance Commission, the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service will arrest and prosecute recalcitrant owners who fail to insure their properties after being cautioned. The National Task Force has been mandated to ascertain whether premises have the insurance policy, and also the insurance certificates (s) have been conspicuously displayed.
